Job Purpose
The Assistant Manager supports the Senior Manager, Financial Accounting and Head of Financial Control.
The role covers financial accounting, period-end close, fixed assets, GL reconciliation, new-product accounting, finance-system maintenance and transformation, process controls, and bank-wide insurance renewal.
The position supports accurate financial reporting, effective controls, and compliance with accounting and regulatory requirements.
Key Accountabilities
- Manage fixed asset accounting, including depreciation, capitalization, reports, IFRS disclosures, reconciliations, and audit schedules.
- Execute period-end books closing and validate closing entries, controls, timelines, and accounting-period closure.
- Reconcile GL accounts, investigate reconciling items, coordinate resolutions, and clear outstanding balances.
- Perform quarterly financial statement substantiation and maintain audit-ready supporting documentation.
- Identify finance-process improvement and automation opportunities and coordinate implementation.
- Resolve GL account requests and provide accounting guidance to business and support units.
- Handle bank-wide insurance renewal for risks related to products and properties.
- Review accounting schemas and system interfaces for new products and support user acceptance testing.
- Support audits and regulatory reviews with timely schedules, documentation, and financial information.
- Support finance-system transformation and upgrade initiatives, including requirements review and testing.
- Perform other assignments supporting the Financial Control team.
Experience and Qualifications
- 7–8 years of experience in finance or accounting functions.
- At least 5 years of post-qualification experience.
- Experience in a bank or Big 4 accounting firm is preferred.
