Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced

Assistant Finance Manager

to support the CFO and oversee finance operations across its UAE retail network.

The successful candidate will be responsible for branch finance management, financial controls, cash flow oversight, inventory governance, profitability analysis, and financial reporting.

This role requires a finance professional with strong retail finance experience, leadership capabilities, and a solid understanding of financial planning, reporting, and inventory management.

Financial Accounting & Bookkeeping

Manage end-to-end accounting and bookkeeping activities.

Maintain general ledger, journal entries, and account reconciliations.

Ensure timely and accurate recording of financial transactions.

Branch Finance Management

Lead and supervise finance teams across multiple retail locations.

Oversee daily sales reconciliation, cash management, payments, and month-end closing activities.

Review branch P&Ls, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actions.

Ensure compliance with finance policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Profitability & Performance Analysis

Monitor store profitability, gross margins, operating expenses, shrinkage, and stock ageing.

Prepare store-wise and category-wise performance reports.

Collaborate with Operations and Commercial teams to improve margins and business performance.

Cash Flow & Working Capital Management

Manage inventory, payables, receivables, accruals, provisions, and intercompany balances.

Monitor branch cash flows, deposits, and payment cycles.

Drive working capital improvements and optimize stock holding levels.

Inventory Control

Lead centralized inventory control processes.

Oversee GRN/PO matching, stock accuracy reviews, variance investigations, and shrinkage reporting.

Support initiatives to reduce aged and slow-moving inventory.

Financial Reporting & Compliance

Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports, and performance dashboards.

Support internal and external audit activities.

Ensure compliance with IFRS, company policies, and internal control requirements.

Requirements

4–5 years of relevant finance experience, preferably within

Retail or FMCG

.

CA Intermediate, CA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification preferred.

Prior experience with Big 4 firms is a plus.

Strong ERP knowledge;

SAP experience is highly preferred

.

Experience managing finance teams and multi-location operations.

Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Exposure to finance transformation and process improvement initiatives is advantageous.
