Assistant Director of Engineering

Role Overview

Engineering Operations

• Assist the Director of Engineering with repair and maintenance operations for the hotel's physical plant and engineering facilities.
• Maintain the building structure, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and related equipment in line with energy conservation and preventive maintenance programs.
• Inspect hotel facilities and verify routine maintenance, repairs, replacements, and renovation projects.

Safety, Compliance, and Sustainability

• Ensure compliance with Safe, Sound & Sustainable standards and support environmental management.
• Report actions arising from local-authority inspections and uphold hotel security instructions and regulations.
• Comply with corporate, hotel, legal, regulatory, safety, security, and operational policies.

Planning and Management

• Assist with departmental plans and goals, regulatory compliance, budgeting, and expense monitoring.
• Create reports for the Director of Engineering or other executives.
• Coordinate with outside agencies or vendors for repair and maintenance work.

Training and Communication

• Train other operating departments on the safe and efficient use of equipment and energy.
• Communicate relevant hotel policies and procedures and support learning and development activities.

Role Expectations

• The role requires compliance with hotel and company policies, procedures, operational standards, safety requirements, and applicable regulations.
• The position supports physical hotel facilities and requires involvement in building, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, maintenance, and engineering operations.
