Assistant/Associate Professor of Computer Engineering

Job Description

• The College of Information Technology (CIT) at UAE University is seeking to appoint a highly qualified faculty member in Computer & AI Engineering, with a strong focus on Drones/UAVs, Robotics and Autonomous Systems.
• This role will play a vital part in strengthening our research programs and launching new multidisciplinary research initiatives and partnerships, both within the university and with external organizations, to support the college’s long-term stability and growth.
• Position Overview: We invite exceptional candidates with a proven research background in Drones/UAVs and Autonomous Systems.
• Priority areas include UAV guidance, navigation and control (GNC), autonomy stacks (planning, decision-making, and control), UAV systems engineering and integration, robust and safe autonomy, multi-agent UAV coordination, and real-world deployment/validation.
• The successful applicant will be expected to enhance and expand upon the College’s current research strengths, as well as contribute to the development and delivery of undergraduate and graduate courses.
• Engaging and mentoring students across various academic programs will also be a key responsibility.
• Qualifications: Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Systems Engineering, or a closely related discipline from a recognized institution.
• In addition, applicants should demonstrate:
• A strong record of publications in leading Q1 journals and top-tier conferences within the field
• Proven success in writing and securing competitive research grants
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching and supervising students at both undergraduate and graduate levels
