Job Overview

  • We are seeking an experienced Asset Management Consultant to provide strategic and technical leadership for the Asset Management function within a major Drainage Networks Operations & Maintenance organization in Qatar.
  • The successful candidate will advise senior management on asset management strategies, organizational transformation, operational performance, and international best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and technical advice to senior management on all aspects of Asset Management.
  • Support the development and implementation of Asset Management strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Lead initiatives to establish and embed Asset Management best practices across the organization.
  • Review and recommend improvements to organizational structures, policies, procedures, and governance related to Asset Management.
  • Drive organizational transformation and change management initiatives.
  • Monitor departmental objectives, KPIs, risks, and performance, recommending corrective actions where required.
  • Advise on operational performance improvements and risk management practices across multiple business units.
  • Ensure departmental plans and initiatives remain within approved budgets and timelines.
  • Prepare regular and ad hoc management reports, highlighting key trends, risks, and recommendations.
  • Promote a culture of excellence, integrity, and continuous improvement.
  • Represent the department in internal and external meetings and deputize for senior management when required.
  • Perform additional strategic assignments as directed by management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Degree obtained from North America, Western Europe, or Australia is preferred.
  • Chartered Engineer (or equivalent professional registration) is highly desirable.
  • Accreditation from the Institute of Asset Management (IAM) or a similar professional body is preferred.

Skills

  • Minimum 30 years of experience in the water or wastewater industry, preferably within the public sector.
  • Extensive knowledge of international Asset Management standards and best practices.
  • Proven experience establishing or transforming an Asset Management function.
  • Strong background in organizational change management and business transformation.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary organizations.
  • Previous Middle East experience is preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, strategic planning, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and problem solving capabilities.
  • High level of professional integrity and ethical conduct.
