Role Overview
Application Engineers are the primary technical resources for the domestic and international field sales team and are responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales proposal process. Working in concert with Design Engineering and the Sales team as the key technical advisor and product advocate, the Application Engineer must be able to identify and provide reliable solutions for all technical issues to assure complete customer satisfaction within the production capability of Bloom through all stages of the sales process. The Applications Engineer must be able to establish and maintain strong relationships through the sales cycle.

Position Summary
Application Engineers are the primary technical resources for the domestic and international field sales team and are responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales proposal process. Working in concert with Design Engineering and the Sales team as the key technical advisor and product advocate, the Application Engineer must be able to identify and provide reliable solutions for all technical issues to assure complete customer satisfaction within the production capability of Bloom through all stages of the sales process. The Applications Engineer must be able to establish and maintain strong relationships through the sales cycle.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop an understanding of product knowledge and application as it relates to the customer’s requirements • Prepare proposals based on input from the sales force to accomplish the customer requirements • Become familiar with and operate Bloom Software programs: Bloom NOx, Conventional Program, Regenerative Program • Respond to functional and technical elements of the RFP • Listen, understand and have the ability to convey customer requirements • Maintain all quotes, calculations, and proposals in an organized manner and ensure that all required material is copied into its assigned folder. • Maintain a timesheet of projects being worked on for the various Bloom facilities. • Resolve customer issues or difficulties in a manner that is consistent with the company mission, values, and financial objectives • Maintain professional business relationships with internal and external customers • Provide status of ongoing projects and future projects • Travel to customer sites to provide assistance with field service, start-up, integration and training services
