We are seeking an experienced RAMS Engineer to join our railway signalling team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that signalling systems meet reliability, availability, maintainability, and safety requirements throughout the project lifecycle — from design through to commissioning and operation — in compliance with relevant railway CENELEC standards.
Develop and maintain RAMS management plans, RAMS requirements specifications, and RAMS demonstration/compliance reports.
Conduct Hazard Identification (HAZID), Hazard Log management, and support Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOP).
Perform Failure Mode, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and Reliability Block Diagrams (RBD).
Carry out Safety Integrity Level (SIL) allocation and verification in accordance with CENELEC standards (EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129).
Support Common Safety Method for Risk Evaluation and Assessment (CSM-RA) processes as per EU/regional regulations.
Develop reliability and availability predictions/allocations for systems and subsystems.
Prepare Maintainability analysis, RCM (Reliability Centred Maintenance) studies, and maintenance philosophy documents.
Support Safety Case development and liaise with Independent Safety Assessors (ISA) / Certification bodies.
Track and manage safety requirements through requirements traceability matrices.
Participate in design reviews, safety review panels, and risk assessment workshops.
Investigate reliability/safety incidents, perform root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions.
Coordinate with Application engineering, design, testing, and operations teams to ensure RAMS & SRAC compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Prepare RAMS reports and documentation for client/regulatory submissions.
Have competencies in FRACAS (Failure Reporting, Analysis & Corrective Actions System)
Minimum 3+ years of relevant RAMS engineering experience in the railway/rail transit, metro, signalling, or rolling stock industry.
Sound knowledge of railway safety standards: EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129, EN 50159, IEC 61508, IEC 62278/79/80.
Practical experience with RAMS analysis tools/techniques: FMECA, FTA, RBD, HAZOP, ETA (Event Tree Analysis).
Familiarity with CSM-RA, Safety Case preparation, and Hazard Log management.
working with regulatory bodies, Independent Safety Assessors, or Notified/Designated Bodies is desirable.
Strong analytical, technical writing, and documentation skills.
Proficiency with RAMS software tools (e.g., Isograph Reliability Workbench, RAM Commander, or similar) is an advantage.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with design, engineering, and project teams.
Knowledge of project lifecycle (V-model) in systems engineering context.
Certification/training in Functional Safety (e.g., TÜV Functional Safety Engineer) is a plus.
