Application Engineer

• Ability to translate customer requirements into practical engineering solutions.
• Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Commercial awareness, including an understanding of cost, value and customer needs.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings, including 2D and 3D designs.
• Knowledge of engineering calculations, technical documentation and relevant design standards.

• Confidence working with customers and colleagues from different functions and cultures.
• Ability to manage priorities and work effectively with a level of independence.
• Collaborative and adaptable approach.

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

• A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a comparable technical qualification.
• At least five years of relevant experience in application engineering, technical sales or another customer-facing engineering role.
• Experience gained within an industrial, OEM, manufacturing, engineering or technical distribution environment.
• Experience assessing technical requirements and developing engineered product solutions.
• Knowledge of design standards, technical documentation or product certification requirements.
• Professional fluency in written and spoken English.

within the oil and gas, energy or petrochemical sectors would be beneficial but is not essential.

Knowledge of additional European languages and experience with AutoCAD or Pro/ENGINEER would also be an advantage.

You must be comfortable travelling domestically and internationally for approximately 25% of your working time.
