Key Responsibilities
- Interview patients before surgery to review medical histories, conduct physical exams, and determine the safest, most effective anesthesia plan.
- Administer general, regional, or local anesthesia. Continuously track vital signs (heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen levels) and bodily functions, and intervene immediately during emergencies.
- Manage patients as they wake up, oversee recovery from sedation, and provide personalized acute pain management.
- Assist with emergency resuscitation, lead intensive care ventilation efforts, and consult in pain clinics.
- Collaborate seamlessly with surgeons and nurses, direct anesthesia care teams, and ensure all life support and monitoring equipment is properly calibrated.
