About the Role
Virtusa is seeking an expert-level Android Kotlin Developer with 5+ years of experience to build native applications from scratch. The role requires strong proficiency in Kotlin, Java, Jetpack Compose, and Clean Architecture.

Responsibilities
- Build native Android applications from scratch using Kotlin and Java
- Implement Clean Architecture and MVVM/MVP/MVI patterns
- Develop modern UIs using Jetpack Compose following Material Design guidelines
- Integrate third party libraries and frameworks such as Retrofit2, Dagger/Hilt, Coroutines
- Manage data using SQLite, Room Database, DataStore, and offline first strategies
- Write unit, integration, and UI tests to ensure quality
- Implement mobile security best practices including SSL pinning and OAuth 2.0
- Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or GitHub Actions
- Collaborate with Product Owners, UI/UX Designers, QA Engineers, and cross functional teams
Requirements
- Expert level proficiency in Kotlin and Java
- Strong experience with Android Studio, Gradle, Android SDK, and Google Play Services
- Extensive experience building native Android applications from scratch using Kotlin and Java
- Strong understanding of Android application lifecycle, components, and performance optimization
- Experience implementing Clean Architecture, MVVM, MVP, or MVI
- Strong experience with Jetpack Compose for modern UI development
- Hands on experience with Retrofit2, Dagger/Hilt, Coroutines & Flow
- Experience with SQLite, Room Database, DataStore, and secure local storage
- Experience writing unit, integration, and UI tests using JUnit, Mockito, Espresso, and Compose Testing
- Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions
- Minimum 5+ years of software engineering experience in Agile/Scrum environments
- Previous experience in banking, financial services, or payment systems (preferred)

- Minimum 5+ years of software engineering experience in Agile/Scrum environments
- Experience collaborating with Product Owners, UI/UX Designers, QA Engineers, and cross functional teams
