About the role
Rylo develops a camera and smartphone app focused on smooth video capture, editing, and sharing.
The Android Engineer will build user interfaces and mobile product experiences for the Rylo platform.
The role requires a problem-solving, organized, self-starting, detail-oriented engineer with strong communication skills.
What you'll work on
- Work closely with product and design teams to customize the Rylo experience for Android.
- Prototype new features and redesign current ones.
- Apply UI/UX design principles to make applications intuitive.
- Develop innovative, consumer-facing mobile products.
- Maintain a high level of application performance and quality.
Who we're looking for
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, or 4+ years of software development experience.
- 2+ years of object-oriented software development experience.
- 2+ years of Android application development in Java or Kotlin using the Android SDK.
- Experience with large codebases and maintainable API design techniques.
- Experience with the NDK and JNI.
- Experience with Java frameworks, custom Android views, multithreading, memory management, caching, I/O, persistence, and high-volume events.
