Position purpose
The Support Analyst supports Global Markets applications used by front-office, middle-office, and back-office teams.
The application support team provides 24/7 global support and aims to maintain application availability and stability.
Direct responsibilities
- Monitor presentation, middleware, database, and scheduled-task application layers.
- Troubleshoot incidents, communicate status to end users, and prevent future occurrences.
- Deploy new releases and patches in production.
- Implement application configuration changes.
- Automate and schedule application production and recurring tasks.
- Work on application improvement and migration projects.
- Manage staging environments.
- Define, implement, and maintain the disaster recovery plan.
Contributing responsibilities
- Study application evolutions with development and business analysis teams.
- Create and maintain documentation.
- Gather knowledge and share it within the teams.
- Suggest improvements to reduce repetitive business-as-usual tasks.
Technical competencies
- Knowledge of Apache and Tomcat.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of Oracle 11g and PL/SQL.
- Knowledge and understanding of Tomcat deployments.
- Understanding of Shell scripts.
- Excellent understanding of Windows and Unix operating systems.
- Knowledge of PL/SQL, Tomcat, Apache, deployments, Windows, and Unix is essential.
Qualifications and behaviors
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- ITIL Foundation level training or certification is listed as a competency.
- Ability to collaborate and work as part of a team.
- Decision-making, client focus, and strong oral and written communication skills.
Location
- The position is located in Mumbai.
- The support function operates across Mumbai, Paris, and New York to provide global coverage.
