Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counselling to students experiencing academic, emotional, behavioural, or social challenges
- Support students in developing resilience, self awareness, emotional regulation, and positive interpersonal skills
- Identify students requiring additional support and develop appropriate intervention plans
- Collaborate with teachers, school leaders, and parents to address student concerns and monitor progress
- Conduct classroom sessions and workshops on wellbeing, mental health awareness, bullying prevention, digital citizenship, stress management, and life skills
- Support students during transitions, including new admissions, grade progression, and career or higher education planning where applicable
- Maintain confidential student records in accordance with school policies and UAE regulations
- Respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns and child protection matters
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to student support plans
- Refer students to external specialists or agencies when necessary and coordinate follow up support
- Promote a positive school culture through wellbeing initiatives and preventive counselling programmes
- Assist in crisis intervention and provide support during emergencies or critical incidents
Requirements
- Master's degree in Psychology, Counselling, School Counselling, Clinical Psychology, or related field
- Professional counselling qualification or licence recognised in the UAE is preferred
- Minimum 2 5 years of counselling experience, preferably in a CBSE or international school
- Knowledge of child and adolescent development, learning needs, and behavioural intervention strategies
- Familiarity with CBSE guidelines and student wellbeing practices is an advantage
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse cultural backgrounds
- Strong organisational skills and ability to maintain confidentiality and professional ethics
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of Hindi or other Indian languages is an advantage
