Overview and Objectives
- Lecturers at Murdoch University Dubai are responsible for delivering high quality education to a diverse cohort of students.
- Responsibilities include delivery of lectures and labs to UG and diploma students, marking of assignments and supporting students.
- Drawing on both academic expertise and industry experience, the lecturer will bridge project management theory with real world applications.
Essential Requirements
- Demonstrated experience teaching Project Management at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels
- Experience teaching within Information Technology, Computer Science, or related disciplines in higher education
- AQF Level 9 Master's degree in Information Technology or closely related field & AQF Level 7 Bachelor's degree in IT or related field, combined with proven teaching experience
Required Industry Experience
- Demonstrated experience managing or contributing to ICT projects in industry environments
- Hands on experience across the project lifecycle
- Practical experience in project scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk, resource, procurement, stakeholder, and communications management
- Experience using project management tools and platforms for scheduling, budgeting, tracking, and reporting
- Exposure to ICT system development projects and cross functional project teams
- Experience applying project governance, quality assurance, and ethical decision making frameworks within ICT projects
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and industry relevant lectures and tutorials in ICT project management
- Guide students through the full project lifecycle
- Facilitate practical learning through real world case studies and project scenarios
- Support students in applying project management tools, methodologies, and ethical frameworks to ICT projects
- Mentor students in developing project schedules, budgets, risk assessments, and stakeholder communication plans
Knowledge, Attributes & Skills
- Strong understanding of the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBoK) framework
- Familiarity with PRINCE2 and ITIL methodologies is an advantage
- Knowledge of project integration management and quality standards such as ISO 9000/9001
- Ability to connect academic theory with contemporary industry practices
- Strong communication, mentoring, and student engagement skills
