- Experience in project management, preferably within AI project environments
- Understanding of ethical issues and societal implications of AI
- Experience in designing, deploying, and maintaining AI/ML systems
- PhD in Computer Science with specialization in AI and ML, or Master's degree in AI and ML with substantial industry experience

Overview of the Role
- Seeking a highly qualified academic professional to teach ICT304 – AI System Design within the Information Technology discipline.
- Contribute to delivering an engaging and industry relevant learning experience bridging academic theory with real world AI/ML applications.
- Requires a dynamic educator who can inspire students, foster critical thinking, and guide them through AI system design and deployment while emphasizing ethical and responsible AI practices.
Required Teaching Experience
- Proven experience teaching AI (beyond just Machine Learning).
- Teaching experience in system engineering, programming, computer science, and/or software engineering.
- Only candidates with prior teaching experience at the university or higher education level will be considered.
Required Industry Experience
- Demonstrated experience working on AI related projects in the industry.
- Experience in project management, preferably within AI project environments.
Other Desirable Requirements
- Understanding of ethical issues and societal implications of AI.
- Experience in designing, deploying, and maintaining AI/ML systems.
Knowledge, Attributes, and Skills
- Strong understanding of Artificial Intelligence concepts and applications.
- Proficiency in Python and other relevant programming languages used in AI system design and deployment.
- Ability to connect academic content with real world industry practices.
- Strong communication and mentoring skills to support student learning and development.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or closely related field) with equivalent professional experience.
- Desirable: PhD in Computer Science with specialization in AI and ML, plus relevant industry experience.
- Desirable: Master's degree in AI and ML with substantial industry experience.
