Position Summary

As the accountant you are responsible for executing day‑to‑day accounting activities, maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with UAE financial regulations, and coordinating financial activities across other cost-centers.

The role supports the preparation of financial reports, assists with month‑end and year‑end closing processes, and contributes to the integrity and reliability of the organization’s financial operations.

This position requires strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a structured, deadline‑driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • **Financial Accounting**
  • Handles daily financial transactions, maintains the general ledger in accordance with IFRS, and prepares journal entries, accruals, and adjustments with proper documentation.
  • Conducts bank and payment reconciliations, resolves discrepancies, and processes vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, and petty cash.
  • Supports month‑end and year‑end closing to ensure accurate and complete financial data.
  • **Financial Reporting**
  • Prepares periodic financial reports, including cost‑center expense summaries and reconciliation schedules.
  • Assists in preparing financial statements and other financial reports.
  • Monitors departmental and site‑level budgets and reports variances to management.
  • **Documentation and Audit Support**
  • Maintains accurate and organized financial records and supporting schedules.
  • Prepares audit schedules and provides documentation to internal and external auditors.
  • Supports the implementation of audit recommendations and enhancements to internal controls.
  • **Tax Regulatory Compliance**
  • Manages tax computations, reconciliations, and filings in accordance with UAE Federal Tax Authority requirements.
  • Reviews tax‑related submissions from other cost centers in coordination with site auditors.
  • Maintains complete documentation for tax and VAT audits and statutory submissions, ensuring full compliance with applicable financial regulations and internal control standards.
  • **Risk Management & Internal Controls**
  • Identifies financial and operational risks within accounting processes and documentation.
  • Ensures adherence to internal controls to reduce errors, fraud, and misstatements.
  • Monitors compliance with policies, approval workflows, and segregation‑of‑duties requirements.
  • Escalates risks when necessary and supports corrective actions and process improvements.
  • **Cross‑Functional Coordination**
  • Coordinates with departments and site locations to ensure accurate financial data flow and support purchasing‑related activities.
  • Liaises with vendors, banks, and service providers on finance matters, and provides timely, accurate responses to internal stakeholders.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. CPA, CMA is an advantage.
  • **3-5 years of relevant accounting experience within the UAE.**
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, UAE VAT regulations, and general accounting principles.
  • Experience with multinational companies is a plus.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Power BI; experience with accounting software systems is preferred.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational capability.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
