Job Purpose:
Receivables Accountant role is placed under Sales Accounting, which is part of Financial Accounting under CFO/Controllership positions. Sales Accounting is responsible for managing the financial aspects of hydrocarbons refined and petrochemicals products supply chain processes namely order-to-cash, procure-to-pay and inventories. Sales Accounting is also responsible to provide financial analysis, advisory and reporting support to management accounting, treasury, other units in CFO business line, cross functional business lines and to shareholders. As a Receivables accountant, you will manage refined products and petrochemicals order-to-cash financial business process and accounts receivables activities with advanced competencies and analytical skills in an effective manner.
Scope: Manage Sales billing and receivables of refined products and petrochemicals in accordance with off-take agreements, accounting standards, valuation methodologies, SATORP’s accounting policies & procedures and statutory requirements.
Main Activities:
Manage sales invoicing and accounts receivables processes
Validate transfer pricing structure as per off-take agreements
Engage with Commercial & Business development dept. on Sales invoicing, contracts related activities
Manage accounts receivable as per off-take agreements and accounting policies
Execute periodic and ad-hoc sales invoicing
Compile and prepare various sales reports, ad-hoc reports.
Administer contracts/procurements related to sales accounting activities.
Reconcile sales and accounts receivable accounts and prepare reconciliation reports.
Contribute in month and year-end closing activities.
Engage with customers and ensure accounts receivables are managed per accounting policies.
Work with the Supervisor in executing the formulation, development and interpretation of oil accounting contracts and relevant policies and procedures .
Review hydrocarbon contracts in terms and conditions, payment terms, prices and rates and ensure full compliance with the SATORP requirements.
Establish and review KPI’s for receivables accounting activities and report progress to management on a monthly basis.
Benchmark the receivables accounting process with best practice in well performing companies .
Coordinate annual audit with internal/ external auditors and ensure that the year-end audit package is accurate and complete.
Establish, develop, interpret and implement the receivables accounting policies & procedures
Liaise with different stakeholders in SATORP, shareholders and regulators on an ad-hoc basis
Monitor, coordinate and continually improve receivables accounting process
Provide innovation and generate business value for SATORP.
Work with management on preparation and presentation of short-term financial forecasts
Participate in administering SAP system for all relevant financial transactions.
Follow internal controls and resolve deficiencies
Coordinate other internal finance support as needed to support business initiatives and projects
Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Main Competencies and Qualities:
Strong knowledge in sales and receivables accounting processes.
Ability to analyse financial and commercial data and prepare relevant reports.
Good knowledge in KPI setting and progress monitoring.
Good knowledge of accounting, budgeting and cost control principles.
Good knowledge of short and long-term budgeting & forecasting, rolling budgets, product-line profitability analysis.
Proficient in SAP cross-functions modules (FI, SD, MM) and Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to establish personal credibility with various internal clients and demonstrate excellent interpersonal and engagement skills.
Capable of giving strong attention to details.
Good problem-solving skills.
Strong command of oral and written English
Possess the ability to manage competing priorities
Team player, be able to plan and coordinate their own workload, and meet deadlines.
Add value by delivering work of the highest quality and be able to proactively overcome issues to ensure delivery
Education Background:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
Experience:
3 to 5 years of related experience in accounting roles.
