Role Overview

Maintain and repair HVAC, heating and cooling equipment, water systems, sterilizers, pneumatic controls, and related hospital infrastructure.
Work as part of the Facilities team supporting patient care and the operation of a new health campus expected to open in 2027.

Role overview
Support the safe and reliable operation of building and mechanical systems at the new St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver.
Maintain and repair HVAC, heating and cooling equipment, water systems, sterilizers, pneumatic controls, and related hospital infrastructure.
Work as part of the Facilities team supporting patient care and the operation of a new health campus expected to open in 2027.
Qualifications
- Hold a certificate of competency as a 4th Class Power Engineer recognized by the Province of British Columbia.
- Have two years of recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Communicate effectively verbally and in writing and deal effectively with others.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Have the physical ability to perform the duties and the ability to organize work.
- Be able to operate related equipment.
Day-to-day duties
- Operate heating, air conditioning, pumps, fans, air compressors, and pneumatic systems.
- Monitor temperature controls and record meter and gauge readings.
- Repair and maintain plumbing fixtures, water lines, waste lines, steam valves, sterilizers, and ovens.
