Overview
- Assist the Chief Engineer in the
- safe and efficient operation of all engine room machinery and systems
- Supervise and carry out
- maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair
- of mechanical equipment (engines, generators, pumps, compressors)
- Ensure
- continuous power supply
- to support cable laying and accommodation operations
- Monitor
- engine performance, fuel consumption, and lubrication systems
- Maintain proper
- engine room logs, reports, and planned maintenance records
- Ensure compliance with
- HSE standards, MARPOL, and client (Aramco)
Requirements
- Supervise engine crew and ensure
- safe working practices onboard
- Participate in
- emergency response drills
- (firefighting, shutdowns, etc.)
- Support
- DP systems / auxiliary systems
- if applicable to the barge operations
