- Perform daily husbandry tasks including administration of vitamins and medication as directed
- Prepare food, provide proper nutrition and constant care of animals
- Maintain safe, appropriate and sanitary living conditions for all animal habitats
- Apply proficient behavioral modification techniques including developing and implementing new behaviors
- Ensure guest, personal, and animal safety through constant monitoring of behavioral precursors
- Assist on training of colleagues and animals as directed by leadership
- Provide proactive guest services through guest interactions, pre and post shows, and responding to inquiries
- Perform assigned roles in education and general public programs, and guest interaction programs
- Make daily observations of animals and report abnormalities to leadership team
- Maintain all animal records, equipment, area responsibilities, and communication requirements daily
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Open Water SCUBA certified
- 2 years of relatable animal experience in a professional setting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Excellent swimming and diving skills
- Basic mathematical skill
- Basic computer knowledge including MS Office and animal recording system

About the Role
- To ensure smooth and efficient operations of SeaWorld Abu Dhabi facilities in Zoological Department by safely fulfilling duties in animal/guest interactions, animal training, husbandry, enrichment, general public presentations, and research.
Key Responsibilities
- Performs daily husbandry tasks including administration of vitamins and medication as directed.
- Prepares food, provides proper nutrition and constant care of animals.
- Maintains safe, appropriate and sanitary living conditions for all animal habitats.
- Applies proficient behavioral modification techniques including developing and implementing new behaviors, training naïve animals, and maintaining conditioned behavior.
- Ensures guest, personal, and animal safety through constant monitoring of behavioral precursors.
- Assists on training of colleagues and animals as directed by leadership.
- Provides proactive guest services through guest interactions, pre and post shows, and responding to inquiries.
- Performs assigned roles in education and general public programs, and guest interaction programs.
- Makes daily observations of animals and reports abnormalities to leadership team.
- Maintains all animal records, equipment, area responsibilities, and communication requirements daily.
- Functions as Ambassador by displaying consideration, tolerance, cooperation, open communication, and reliability.
- Ensures all policies, guidelines, manuals and SOPs are followed at all times.
Qualifications & Experience Essential
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Open Water SCUBA certified.
- 2 years of relatable animal experience in a professional setting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Excellent swimming and diving skills.
- Basic mathematical skill.
- Basic computer knowledge including MS Office and animal recording system.
- Dynamic Habitat/Aquarium: Demonstrate understanding of fish, reptile, amphibian and invertebrate husbandry, nutrition and natural history.
- Aviculture: Demonstrate understanding of avian husbandry and incubation principles and techniques.
- Marine Mammal: Demonstrate understanding of marine mammal husbandry and training principles and techniques.
- Zoo Support & Rescue: Demonstrate understanding of marine mammal, avian, and reptilian husbandry/rescue/rehabilitation techniques.
Desirable
- College background in Psychology, Zoology or Biology is a plus.
- CPR/AED certified.
