About the Role

Responsibilities
- Alter and repair existing costumes for show productions
- Fabricate new costumes and craft pieces
- Assist with daily laundry including washing, hanging, ironing and steaming costume pieces
- Assist in checking in and out of costumes on daily basis
- Assist in dressing performers backstage or in Green Rooms as a dresser
- Help Senior Tailors with tailoring tasks
- Build new costumes and overlays from start to finish following design guidelines
- Support Costume Tech division with stitching props/costume props
- Keep track of supplies and share needs with senior tailors/management
- Participate in off site or on site public relations events involving costumes and performers
Requirements
- Higher secondary or equivalent education
- Minimum of 3 years sewing background
- Sewing and tailoring skills both hand and machine sewing
- Knowledge of cutting/fitting and patternmaking
- Able to operate both industrial and home sewing machines
- Able to operate serger machines
- Attention to details and highly organized
- Knowledge of written and spoken English
- Previous experience working with performers
- Associate degree or higher in theatre (desirable)
- 5 years sewing background (desirable)
- 2 years with theme park, theatre productions and/or cruise ship experience (desirable)

Role Scope
- Repairs & Alterations & Support for the Daily Operation
- Building New Costumes & Overlays In House
- Inventory Tracking
Repairs & Alterations & Support
- Altering and repairing existing costumes for show productions.
- As needed, help with daily laundry including washing, hanging, ironing and steaming.
- Assists in checking in and out of costumes on daily basis.
- Assists in dressing performers backstage or in Green Rooms as a dresser.
- Help Senior Tailors with their tailoring tasks.
- Performs any Costume Attendant duties as required.
Building New Costumes & Overlays
- Building new costumes and overlays as per design from start to finish.
- Includes pattern making, cutting, stitching, fitting, and alterations.
- Supporting Costume Tech division with stitching props/costume props.
Inventory Tracking
- Keeping track of supplies and sharing needs with senior tailors/management.
- Keeping stock of fabrics, trims, accessories organized for easy inventory tracking.
Other Duties
- Participates in off site or on site public relations events.
- Shares information and best practices with colleagues.
- Attends Costuming department meetings.
- Helps create a fun and safe working environment.
- Interface with colleagues and outside vendors professionally.
- Other duties as requested by leadership.
Essential Qualifications
