Yard - Surface Operator

Perform assigned tasks in yard operations.

Load, unload, and stage materials using approved equipment and procedures.

Operate forklifts, loaders, and material handling equipment, if qualified and authorized.

Support material distribution to site operations.

Maintain organized yard storage areas and safe yard traffic flow.

Handle and transport materials, including dangerous goods, in accordance with regulations.

Conduct pre-operational checks and routine equipment inspections.

Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free yard areas.

Follow all safety regulations, site procedures, and PPE requirements.

Report hazards, discrepancies, equipment defects, and near misses promptly.

Communicate yard conditions and operational needs to supervisors.

Coordinate with Maintenance, Operations, and Logistics teams to support workflow.

Identify opportunities to improve material flow, housekeeping, and yard efficiency.

Perform other duties as required.

Have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Bring at least 1 year of experience in a yard, logistics, mining, industrial, or similar environment.

Have experience operating material handling equipment

Hold forklift or front-end loader certification

Have experience with JD Edwards

Bring strong safety awareness and hazard recognition.

Are reliable, accountable, organized, and comfortable working in a hands-on environment.
