Role Overview
Carry out skilled woodworking, carpentry, fabrication, assembly, repair, and finishing activities according to approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret technical drawings, sketches, work orders, and cutting lists.
- Measure, mark, cut, shape, drill, sand, and assemble wood and wood-based materials.
- Operate table saws, panel saws, band saws, routers, planers, sanders, drilling machines, and other workshop equipment.
- Select materials such as plywood, MDF, solid wood, veneer, laminates, and other wood-based products.
- Assemble cabinets, furniture, wooden structures, fixtures, displays, and other fabricated items.
- Install hinges, handles, locks, slides, brackets, fittings, and other hardware.
- Perform edge banding, laminating, veneering, routing, sanding, and finishing preparation.
- Repair, modify, and maintain wooden furniture, fixtures, and structures.
- Inspect materials and finished products, rectify defects, and ensure proper alignment and workmanship.
- Maintain workshop cleanliness, store materials and tools properly, minimize wastage, and follow safety regulations.
- Report damaged tools, machinery faults, material shortages, and safety hazards to the supervisor.
- Coordinate with supervisors, designers, production personnel, and technicians to complete assigned work on time.
