The Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre (Peter Mac) is a Victorian public health service and a world-leading comprehensive cancer centre, dedicated to excellence across all spheres of clinical care, research and education. About the team The Peter Mac Patient Experience and Wellbeing Department manages a range of high-impact work in three streams: patient experience, consumer engagement, and wellbeing. We are a diverse and motivated team that shares a goal of improving the care experience of people with cancer. This role sits within the wellbeing workstream. The Wellbeing Centre is a welcoming and calm space for patients, carers, and visitors to relax and connect. It was 170+ visitors per day, and is the physical entry point to our wellbeing programs.

Provide day-to-day coordination of Peter Mac staff and volunteers in the Wellbeing Centre
Act as an escalation point for risks and issues in the Wellbeing Centre
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders involved in delivery of wellbeing services
Represent the department in meetings, forums, and working groups as required
Act as a role model to Peter Mac for consumer-led, human centred holistic care of people with lived experience of cancer
Manage performance and conduct matters within the team with appropriate support where required
Provide day-to-day coordination of our Wellbeing Centre and associated programs, for example patient education sessions and oncology massage
Respond to patient and carer enquiries, assisting them to navigate services and solve problems
Maintain the physical environment of wellbeing services to an exceptionally high standard, ensuring all health and safety requirements are continuously met
Manage communication channels associated with wellbeing services including newsletters, websites, printed materials, phone lines, and emails
Coordinate the planning and delivery of wellbeing events
Any other duties as required that meet relevant standards and recognised practice
Support the implementation of Peter Mac’s Patient and Carer Experience Strategy
Build the profile and range of wellbeing services across all Peter Mac campuses

Refine wellbeing service policies, procedures, and workflows
Coordinate the implementation of new wellbeing programs and services, in line with departmental objectives and workplan
Support the application for funding sources relevant to departmental activities
Maintain an understanding of individual responsibility for safety, quality and risk, and contribute to organisational quality and safety initiatives

Follow Peter Mac's safety, quality and risk policies, procedures and guidelines
Escalate concerns regarding safety, quality and risk to appropriate staff member, if unable to resolve yourself
Comply with the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards and other regulatory requirements
Work in accordance with the Data Accountability Framework to maintain data integrity
Escalate safety, quality and risk concerns to the appropriate staff member if you cannot resolve them directly
Participate in quality audits and compliance monitoring activities (as required)
Pursue opportunities for continuous improvement
Demonstrate commitment to Peter Mac’s organisational values, including performing an exceptionally high work ethic and focusing on collaboration and mutual respect
Actively contribute to Department activities, meetings, and work plan including ad-hoc duties as required
