Coordinate with QA/QC teams during inspection and testing activities.
Review weld quality and ensure compliance with customer requirements and applicable codes.
Support NDT planning and interpretation including: Liquid Penetrant Examination (LPE) Magnetic Particle Examination (MPE) Ultrasonic Examination (UT) Radiographic Examination (RT) Technical Support & Process Improvement: Work closely with Design, Metallurgy, Manufacturing, and Project teams to resolve welding-related technical challenges. Evaluate material weldability and recommend suitable welding processes and consumables. Identify opportunities to improve productivity, weld quality, and manufacturing efficiency. Stay current with advancements in welding technologies, automation, and international standards. Root Cause Analysis: Investigate welding defects and non-conformities. Conduct root cause analysis using structured problem-solving techniques. Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to eliminate recurring quality issues. Team Leadership & Development: (Primarily applicable for Manager role) Lead, mentor, and develop welding personnel. Conduct welder qualification and certification programs. Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Train teams on best welding practices, new technologies, and code requirements. Equipment & Consumables Management: Evaluate welding equipment and automation technologies. Optimize welding consumables for quality and cost effectiveness. Support consumable estimation, inventory management, and equipment maintenance planning. Documentation & Compliance: Prepare technical reports related to welding activities, inspections, and qualifications. Maintain complete documentation for welding procedures, welder qualifications, inspections, and project records. Ensure compliance with customer, statutory, and international code requirements.
