Role Overview
FET Variperm specializes in sand control engineering, completion and work-over tools, and cased-hole fishing services.
This position welds and fabricates parts and products to specifications identified in job-order documentation.
The position is primarily nightshift but may involve other shifts, days, and overtime depending on plant activity.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform production welding under Variperm Weld Procedure Specifications, including post-weld heat treatment.
- Operate semi-automatic welding equipment using GMAW and GMAW pulse (2FR) processes on various steel types.
- Read blueprints and drawings, take measurements, plan layouts, and set up components for welding.
- Select welding methods, operate angle grinders, align components, and clamp pieces for fabrication.
- Direct labourers as needed and ensure the proper use, care, and maintenance of equipment.
- Perform quality control inspections and follow housekeeping, HSE, quality, and company procedures.
- Assist with other plant operations, special projects, and assigned duties.
Skills and Knowledge
- Strong semi-automatic GMAW welding skills are required.
