The Water Utility Equipment Operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment used in the construction, maintenance, and repair of the City’s water distribution system. This includes excavation for water main repairs, valve replacements, hydrant installations, and related tasks. The position also assists crews with manual labor and site preparation, ensuring safe and efficient job site operation
Operate backhoes, excavators, skid steers, dump trucks, and other equipment for water utility construction and repair.
Safely dig around underground utilities and support crews during water main, valve, and service line repairs.
Load and unload materials and equipment at job sites.
Perform daily inspections of equipment and report maintenance needs.
