Role overview

Intermediate Water Resources Engineer based in Toronto supporting municipal infrastructure and land development projects.

Work within multidisciplinary engineering teams delivering hydraulic modeling and design services for subdivisions, urban development, and civil infrastructure programs.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver hydraulic modeling and water resources analysis for municipal servicing, stormwater management, and conveyance systems.
  • Prepare technical reports, design drawings, and regulatory submissions for municipal approvals.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary design across land development, infrastructure, and utility systems.
  • Support stormwater management systems including ponds, drainage networks, and LID solutions.
  • Review designs for constructability, compliance, and cost efficiency.
  • Provide technical oversight using PCSWMM, MIKE, WaterCAD, and SewerCAD.
  • Coordinate with municipalities, developers, and regulatory authorities.
  • Contribute technical input to proposals and business development activities.
  • Perform quality control checks against municipal engineering standards.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and apply sustainable infrastructure practices.
  • Support construction phase services, design clarifications, and technical reporting.

Qualifications and requirements

  • University degree in Civil Engineering or Water Resources Engineering.
  • Three to seven years of design experience in municipal servicing or land development projects.
  • Ontario Professional Engineer license or eligibility within one year.
  • Experience with HEC-RAS 1D and 2D hydraulic modeling.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcView GIS, PCSWMM, MIKE Suite, WaterCAD, and SewerCAD.
  • Dynamo or Python automation experience is an asset.
  • Excellent English communication skills; French bilingual capability is an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, time management, and creative thinking skills.
  • Understanding of land development and municipal engineering fundamentals.
  • Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Valid driver's license and access to an insured, registered vehicle.
