Responsible for loading and unloading product on trucks and railcars.

Review work orders to identify products to be loaded on correct trailers.
Inventory trucks on lot for how many and whose trailers they are and match to drop list.
Inspect forklift to ensure proper operation and perform routine maintenance.
Operate forklift to retrieve stock from warehouse and load on trailers and railcars.
Monitor pallets and products for damage. Repair pallets if possible.

Direct truck traffic in loading area.
Move railcars into position for loading.
Inspect trailers and railcars for cleanliness and notify owner if trailer does not pass inspection.
Monitor pallets and products for damage.
Plan the load.
Load and unload pallets and products on railcars and box and flatbed trailers.
Follow food-grade procedures to protect from contamination or theft during transit.

A high school diploma or GED is required.

Walk throughout the Warehouse and associated areas to get product, inspect trailers and load and unload pallets and product.
Stand while inspecting and preparing pallets and product for loading.
Sit for extended periods while operating forklift.
Bend or crouch occasionally throughout the day to inspect pallets and product.
Lift up to 80 pounds and moves item short distances.
Climb on and off of trailers.

Seeing - visually inspect pallets and product for damage. Visually analyze load to ensure proper alignment and ensure correct product is loaded.
Reading - read and understand work orders and other written material relevant to the job.
Written communication - write in understandable English to complete required paperwork and provide information needed by subsequent shift workers, coworkers and supervisors.
Listening - understand oral job-related information and instructions received from coworkers and supervisors. Listen to forklift and yard dog to detect problems.

Environmental conditions in different parts of the plant can include extreme heat and cold, wet and humid conditions, noise, vibration, exposure to dust and poor ventilation.
Hazardous conditions include moving parts, potential electrical shock, and slick floors.
PPE including safety helmet, steel-toed shoes with meta-tarsal guards, gloves, safety glasses, and ear plugs required at all times.
