Pella is seeking a temporary peak season Warehouse Associate for the Geneva IL branch warehouse.
The Warehouse Associate is responsible for maintaining Pella processes with regard to the productivity, efficiency and safety of the warehouse.
Daily responsibilities include coordination of warehouse product and working with radio frequency scanners.
Receives, stores, and distributes material, supplies, equipment, and products within the company by performing documented duties (see below).
Must be knowledgeable of and/or capable of performing all jobs in the department.
Must be safety conscious.
This is a temporary position that works Monday - Friday 6AM - 2:30PM.
The ideal candidate will have prior warehouse experience and can lift up to 100lbs.
Depending on business needs and performance, a temporary role can transition to a full-time position.
The pay rate for this role is $23.36/hour paid bi-weekly.
Temporary positions do not include any benefits or paid time off.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Other duties may be assigned as needed.
- Comply with safety, quality and warehouse requirements and procedures.
- Must be able to follow standard work and adhere to Pella Safe Operating Procedures.
- Must be capable of performing all general warehouse positions.
- Pull and load outbound trucks. Read load lists, production schedules, and requisitions, shipping orders to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
- Receive and unload inbound trucks, verify load lists, and move materials and items to locations, production, service, office or other designated areas.
- Sort and place warehouse materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as order number, size, type, style, color, or product code.
- Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves, marking materials with identifying information.
- Arrange stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers.
- Use computer to verify order information and completion, such as expected receipt date, product type, color, or quantity.
- Compile worksheets or tickets from customer specifications for shipping.
- Pass and maintain Power Industrial Vehicle (PIV) certification & Drive/Operate material handling equipment (i.e. cherry picker, forklift).
- Operate radio frequency scanners.
- Prepare parcels for truck delivery, small package delivery or mail.

Education And And Or Experience
High School diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.) required.
Six months to one year related experience preferred.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written and oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems in standardized situations.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
