Warehouse Keeper

Role Overview

Department

Receiving and Inspection

• Receive supplier shipments and verify quantity, quality, and expiration dates against purchase orders.
• Inspect perishable and frozen products for safety before acceptance.
• Reject or report goods that do not meet requirements.

Storage and Inventory

• Organize goods using FIFO and FEFO principles.
• Maintain appropriate temperatures for refrigerated, frozen, and dry inventory.
• Organize warehouse locations for access and to minimize waste and loss.

Distribution and Supply

• Distribute goods to kitchen and dining areas based on verified requests.
• Monitor daily consumption and verify distribution quantities.

Auditing and Documentation

• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly inventory audits.
• Record incoming, outgoing, damaged, and expired inventory movements in the warehouse management system.
• Prepare reports on inventory levels, losses, and waste.

Safety and Compliance

• Follow HACCP and other food safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain warehouse cleanliness and organization.
• Ensure the safety of warehouse equipment and tools.

Coordination and Supervision

• Coordinate with purchasing to determine needs and reorder on time.
• Supervise warehouse staff when applicable and delegate tasks.

Qualifications and Experience

• At least eight years of warehouse management experience.
• Significant experience in the food and beverage sector.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field is preferred.
• Proficiency in warehouse management systems, ERP/POS systems, or comparable inventory systems.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and temperature and humidity storage conditions.
• Proficiency in Excel and inventory report preparation.

• Leadership and supervisory skills over warehouse staff.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication with suppliers and internal teams.
• HACCP or similar food safety certification is a plus.
• Physical fitness for handling and moving goods.
