Role Overview

  • Waiters are ambassadors of gracious hospitality, delivering intuitive, personalised service.

Key Responsibilities Guest Experience

  • Welcome guests warmly and escort them to their table where required.
  • Present menus, explain dishes, daily specials and beverage recommendations with confidence.
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders and relay them promptly using the POS system.
  • Deliver food and beverages efficiently while ensuring presentation standards are maintained.
  • Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to requests throughout the dining experience.
  • Build rapport with guests and personalise service wherever possible.
  • Handle guest enquiries and resolve minor concerns professionally, escalating when necessary.

Key Responsibilities Operational Excellence

  • Set up and prepare the restaurant before service according to brand standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the restaurant, service stations and back of house areas.
  • Ensure tables are properly reset and maintained throughout service.
  • Follow sequence of service and all departmental SOPs.
  • Process guest bills accurately and efficiently.
  • Support opening and closing procedures.

Key Responsibilities Food & Beverage Knowledge

  • Develop thorough knowledge of menus, ingredients, allergens and preparation methods.
  • Understand wine, spirits and beverage offerings to make suitable recommendations.
  • Upsell menu items and promotions confidently while enhancing the guest experience.

Key Responsibilities Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all food hygiene, HACCP and health & safety procedures.
  • Maintain high standards of personal grooming and hygiene.
  • Comply with company policies and local regulations relating to food service and alcohol.

Key Responsibilities Teamwork

  • Work collaboratively with kitchen, bar and fellow colleagues to ensure smooth service.
  • Assist colleagues during busy periods and contribute to a positive working environment.
  • Participate in training sessions and continuously develop product and service knowledge.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous experience as a Waiter/Waitress in a luxury hotel or premium restaurant preferred.
  • Good knowledge of food and beverage service standards.
  • Experience using POS systems is an advantage.
  • Excellent spoken English; additional languages are beneficial.
  • A passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
