About the role

Responsibilities

• Explain the In Room Dining concept and food and beverage offerings to guests.
• Complete mise en place, cleaning, polishing, and equipment assembly before and during service.
• Operate the POS system to process food and beverage orders.
• Deliver friendly, courteous, efficient service based on guest requirements.
• Upsell services and products to enhance service and generate revenue.
• Process gift cards and non-cash payments and perform billing and cashiering tasks.
• Present dishes according to hotel standards and food and beverage specifications.
• Maintain equipment and utensils and collect and arrange linen, beverages, dried goods, and other stocks.
• Keep product knowledge current and communicate guest preferences and allergies to relevant colleagues.
• Support other outlets and complete reasonable tasks assigned by the Restaurant or Outlet Manager.
• Communicate well, cooperate with colleagues, and contribute to a team-oriented operation.
• Create positive guest experiences in line with hotel service standards and quality experiences.

Candidate requirements

• At least 2 years of experience working as a waiter or waitress.
• Ability to understand guest needs and deliver superior customer service.
• Ability to work long hours with a strong focus on operational excellence.
• High school qualification or equivalent is preferred.
• A hospitality, hotel, or business management degree or Higher National Diploma is preferred.
• High-volume restaurant and luxury hotel experience are preferred.
• Familiarity with restaurant POS and cashiering procedures is preferred.
• Fine dining and casual dining service knowledge, multitasking ability, and basic MS Office skills are preferred.
