Responsibilities
- Originate and onboard new financial institution clients across assigned markets
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with banks and financial institutions
- Drive trade finance and liquidity solution sales to achieve revenue and utilisation targets
- Manage the full client lifecycle from prospecting through onboarding and activation
- Coordinate KYC, AML, compliance, and credit documentation requirements
- Support commercial negotiations and facility structuring discussions
- Monitor portfolio utilisation, transaction volumes, and client activity
- Work closely with internal stakeholders including Credit, Compliance, Operations, Legal, and Finance
- Provide market intelligence, competitor analysis, and business development insights
- Deliver against individual and team KPIs relating to revenue, client acquisition, and portfolio growth
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline
- 5 10+ years of experience within Trade Finance, Financial Institutions Coverage, Transaction Banking, Correspondent Banking, or Structured Trade Finance
- Strong understanding of trade finance products including Letters of Credit (LCs), Standby Letters of Credit (SBLCs), and liquidity solutions
- Proven track record of business development, relationship management, and revenue generation
- Experience working with financial institutions across Africa is highly preferred
- Strong commercial acumen and client facing capabilities
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
