Role overview
The role leads venue development initiatives from feasibility and concept development through design, approvals, construction, commissioning, operational readiness, handover, and post-opening optimization.
The position combines commercial, technical, project-management, and operational expertise to develop financially viable, efficient, safe, accessible, customer-focused venues.
Projects may support entertainment, hospitality, events, sports, cultural, commercial, and community experiences.
Core responsibilities
- Develop venue strategies and lead new venue, expansion, redevelopment, renovation, relocation, and repositioning projects.
- Conduct market research, location analysis, demand assessments, competitive benchmarking, and technical, operational, commercial, financial, and regulatory feasibility studies.
- Prepare business cases, investment proposals, development budgets, financial models, schedules, procurement plans, and governance frameworks.
- Define venue concepts, capacity targets, customer journeys, space programs, adjacency requirements, circulation, back-of-house areas, and service infrastructure.
- Coordinate architects, engineers, designers, consultants, contractors, operators, vendors, and specialist advisors throughout the development lifecycle.
- Coordinate designs for event, audience, hospitality, retail, food and beverage, office, storage, loading, parking, and back-of-house facilities.
