About the Role
Emirates Global Aluminium is seeking a Utility Operator for Casting Operations in the UAE. The role involves assisting in DC casting, furnace preparation, scrap handling, forklift operation, and maintaining safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities
- Assist in DC Furnace/DC Casting or Homo & Sawing Operations as per daily production plan
- Prepare and arrange spares and tools such as Kawool, Plug Cones, Bars, Break launders, Tundish Launders, Sampling Moulds/Spoons
- Check and carry out scrap segregation and arrangements at DC furnaces as per alloy requirements through SSM System
- Assist operator in arranging alloying elements
- Assist in DC Stationary/Tilting Furnaces preparation
- Operate overhead crane for hot metal crucible handling and direct pouring through tundish launder/pouring through tilt table operation
- Perform scrap charging and sampling as per requirement
- Shift dross bins to Dross press machines on time and arrange well prepared dross bins at furnaces with forklift
- Assist in casting launders preparation, furnace spout preparation, and degasser unit preparation
- Assist in sawing operations, labeling, marking, and pneumatic banding
- Perform forklift operation in finishing section for bundles lifting and scrap hoppers changing
- Maintain 5S standards and keep work area clean and tidy
Requirements
- Physically fit and prepared to work in shift duties (8 hrs/12 hrs)
- Completion of training modules for DC Casting, Homo/Saw, Overhead Crane, and Forklift
- Ability to follow safety procedures and EGA Life Saving Rules

EHS and Training
- Perform tasks in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with operating procedures and safety regulations.
- 100% completion of OH&S awareness trainings.
- Follow 3 'R' Policy—Reduce, Reuse & Recycle.
- Attend Safe start trainings as per schedule.
- Strictly follow wet weather procedure during rainy weather conditions for scrap handling.
- Identify unsafe acts/hazards in work area and inform supervisor for further action to achieve Zero LTI.
- Always follow EGA Life Saving Rules (9 Rules).
Training and Skills Development
- Must be competent in all training tasks before assigning to shift.
- Training modules: CH/TRG.13.00. F03 General tasks – DC Casting/DC Furnace (CH 1 & 2)
- Training modules: CH/TRG.13.00. F04 General Tasks – Homo / Saw (CH 1 & 2)
- Training modules: CH/TRG.13.00. F06 Overhead Pendant Crane – Billet Operation (CH 1, & 2)
- Training modules: CH/TRG.13.00. F10 Forklift Tasks DC Casting / DC Furnace (CH 1&2)
- Training modules: CH/TRG.13.00. F11 Forklift Tasks – Homo/Saw (CH 1 & 2).
People Management and Production
- Work well within the team performing role effectively.
- Receive and carry out work instructions from operators in DC Furnace/DC Casting or Homo & Sawing Operations.
- Preparation and arrangement of spares and tools.
- Check and carry out scrap segregation and arrangements at DC furnaces as per alloy requirements through SSM System.
- Assist operator in arranging alloying elements.
- Assist operator in DC Stationary/Tilting Furnaces preparation.
- Overhead crane operation Hot metal Crucible handling and direct pouring.
- Scrap Charging and Sampling as per requirement.
- Carry out dross bins shifting to Dross press machines on time.
- Assist operator/team members in DC Casting Operations.
- Casting Launders preparation, Furnace spout preparation, Spares and tools arrangement.
- Degasser unit preparation (Before and after casting).
Machine, Production, Standard, Miscellaneous
- Assist in carrying out tasks delegated by operators as per training completion.
- Keep working area and equipment clean and tidy to ensure high standard of safety and housekeeping.
- Contribute in achieving shift’s production target in terms of quality and quantity.
- Follow casting operations, metallurgical and safety procedures as per EGA Quality Management system and international standards.
- Actively participate in Suggestion scheme.
- Hazards Identification/Reporting as per target.
- Keep work area and equipment neat and clean, maintain 5S always.
- Must be physically fit and prepared to work in shift duties (8 hrs/12 hrs).
