Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect vehicle interiors to assess upholstery repair or replacement needs.
• Remove and dismantle car seats, headliners, carpets, and other interior components as necessary.
• Repair or replace damaged upholstery using appropriate materials and techniques.
• Install new upholstery, including seats, headliners, carpets, and door panels, ensuring proper fit and alignment.
• Clean and maintain upholstery materials and equipment.
• Utilize sewing machines, hand tools, and other equipment to complete upholstery tasks.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures while working with upholstery materials and tools.
• Communicate with customers to understand their upholstery needs and provide recommendations or estimates as needed.
• Keep accurate records of materials used, time spent on each project, and customer information.
• Collaborate with other technicians or team members as required to complete projects efficiently.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in upholstery repair or installation, preferably in automotive upholstery.
• Knowledge of different types of upholstery materials, fabrics, and tools.
• Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Physical dexterity and strength to lift and maneuver heavy materials and equipment.
• Proficiency in using sewing machines and other upholstery tools.
• Familiarity with safety practices and procedures in an automotive workshop environment.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and technologies in car upholstery.
