Underwriting Assistant

We are looking for someone to join our Complex Corporate team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an energetic and engaged team where you will review, analyse and assess corporate business leads in accordance with our underwriting principles, standards and risk criteria, provide our branch network with targeted qualified opportunities that sit within risk appetite.

This is a varied role where someone who is curious and interested in commerce will be able to research commercial businesses and assess financial information to produce coherent Customer documents that identify relevant risk features, sector insight, and provide next stage recommendations/engagement strategies.

A confident communicator you will build and maintain relationships with Underwriters, Risk Managed Services and our sales network to ensure consistency in the assessment of corporate risks and the continuous improvement of the processes and systems used in the generation of targeted qualified opportunities.

You will be an experienced commercial underwriter or insurance professional; with experience in writing reports, and the confidence to build and manage relationships. If you’re not experienced in underwriting but have a successful track record of commercial prospecting and sales, then this role could also be for you.

Qualifications/Other

A minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English at Grade C or above.

CII Diploma/Advanced Diploma desirable.
