Underground Mobile Maintenance Supervisor

To organize, co-ordinate and direct maintenance activities, ensuring that the work is performed in the safest and most cost effective manner by managing all resources towards complying to the maintenance schedules with the least negative impact on the production plan.

SAFETY AND SUSTAINABILITY EXPECTATIONS

Ensure the maintenance area & equipment operates according to company, federal, provincial and municipal standards.

Ensure individual employee safety concerns are dealt with in a timely manner.

Ensure compliance to the 5-pt safety systems, safety meetings, workplace audits, and I.R.S.

Ensure that hourly employees have the tools and systems in place so work can be performed safely and efficiently.

Guide and coach individuals towards reaching personal and company goals. (Career development). Identify opportunities for improvements (training, tools, etc.) and implement corrective actions.

Complete performance reviews as required on all direct reports in a timely and professional manner, develop action plans, and follow up through out the year.

Promote and adhere to Discovery's environmental and sustainability polices.

Maintain a positive working relationship with external agencies (i.e. MOL, MOE, WSN,).

Promote the principles of ownership and accountability to the maintenance personnel.

Lead by example, provide guidance and motivate people to work safely

Ensure Discovery's safety initiatives are implemented and followed. These include Daily huddles, Act Twice, 5-pt safety system, job task analysis, safety meetings, etc.
