Role Overview

Responsibilities

• Support the development and enhancement of an independent Quality Assurance and Compliance Assurance framework across Compliance, including UAE and international locations.
• Provide independent assurance to Compliance Senior Management on the design and operating effectiveness of the Compliance Programme, controls, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
• Collaborate with Compliance verticals and business stakeholders to assess internal control effectiveness and regulatory compliance.
• Provide technical guidance, challenge, and quality oversight during planning, fieldwork, issue validation, reporting, and closure of assurance reviews.
• Identify and escalate significant control weaknesses, recurring themes, and emerging compliance risks.
• Escalate critical issues that may expose the Bank to regulatory, conduct, financial crime, or reputational risk.
• Support the Head of Compliance Assurance or Unit Manager in strengthening assurance methodology, governance, reporting, and strategic priorities.

Requirements

• Capability to lead compliance assurance activities and risk-based reviews across assigned business and compliance areas.
• Knowledge of compliance controls, regulatory requirements, internal policies, and compliance programme effectiveness.
• Ability to provide technical guidance and quality oversight throughout assurance review planning, fieldwork, reporting, and closure.
• Ability to identify and escalate control weaknesses, compliance risks, and issues requiring remediation.
