Responsibilities
- Undertake detailed maintenance and inspection activities on Typhoon mechanical systems
- Assure work is completed in accordance with work package and approved technical information
- Assist in resolving faults and maintenance issues, including configuration management
- Perform component removals, inspections, repairs, modifications, fault rectifications, replacements, and functional/system tests
- Maintain personal task authorization for working on components per QAF requirements
- Report progress against delivery targets to supervisor
- Undertake support tasks to maintain compliance with MOE and QAF procedures
- Evaluate faults and raise ad hoc work cards for found faults during maintenance
- Ensure all maintenance activities are documented and airworthiness records maintained
- Maintain personal log book and sign others' logbooks as appropriate

Overview
- The post holder will report to the Mechanicals Junior Supervisor and be an experienced and skilled Mechanical technician, undertaking a range of detailed base maintenance activities on Typhoon aircraft.

- Competent to carry out maintenance instructions in accordance with the organisation's regulatory framework
- Demonstrates a distinct ability of trade knowledge of Typhoon aircraft and assemblies
- Ability to follow diagnostic procedures and work effectively within a team
Core Activity
- Undertaking detailed maintenance, inspection activities on the Typhoon Mechanical systems.
- Assuring your work undertaken is completed in accordance with the work package, using the relevant approved technical information.
- Assisting in resolving faults and maintenance issues, including an awareness of configuration management
- Undertaking and complete tasked maintenance activities on Typhoon Mechanical systems, which may include, as appropriate, component removals, inspections, repairs, modifications, fault rectifications, replacements and / or functional / system test
- Demonstrate a flexible and proactive attitude to carrying out responsibilities appropriate to the role and takes direction appropriately
- Maintaining a personal task authorisation for working on components in accordance with QAF requirements
- Progress reporting against delivery targets to supervisor
- Undertaking support tasks within the Base Maintenance Facility which are required to maintain compliance with the MOE and QAF procedures (e.g. oversight checks, control of tooling / test equipment)
- Undertaking fault evaluation and raise ad hoc work cards for found faults during maintenance
- Ensuring all Maintenance activities are appropriately documented and airworthiness records are maintained on relevant systems (IT / paper based).
- Compile required reporting, identify any issues and escalate as appropriate
- Maintaining a personal Log Book to demonstrate currency and recency, on completion of On the Job training (OJT) activities, sign other personnel s logbooks as appropriate within your trade and skills boundaries.
Key Accountabilities
- Performance indicators: Leading by example to provide effective maintenance activities by meeting delivery targets, monitoring progress and reporting any impact on continuing airworthiness.
- Procedure/standards: Comply with the regulatory framework, its associated procedures and standards, and any other company procedures and standards.
- Safety Management System: Ensure human factors and error management philosophies are applied to all maintenance activities.
- Continuing Airworthiness Assurance (Quality): Ensure maintenance activities are compliant with the continuing airworthiness assurance management system, in conjunction with the MOE
- Statutory/Regulatory & Legislative requirements: Able to demonstrate an appropriate level of understanding and application of the relevant continuing airworthiness regulatory framework.
- Contractual Requirements: Comply with all applicable contractual requirements
