Tuberculosis Control Program Nurse Administrator (Manager III), Grade M3

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Position Duties

• This position has oversight of the TB Program. The program is administered in accordance with the Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR) and the Maryland Center of Tuberculosis Control and Prevention (CTBCP). The TB Program manages all TB disease cases of individuals who reside in Montgomery County. The goal of the program is screening, early diagnosis, and treatment, and prevention of tuberculosis, and prevention of tuberculosis. Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Oversight and management of the TB Control Program and interdisciplinary team. Administer the program and program practices in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines, such as COMAR, Maryland CTBCP, MOSH, and OSHA. Provide oversight and administration of the Local Health Department Registered Nurse Preparing and Dispensing Medications program. Provide management and oversight of state and local funding for the TB Program, including budget and contract monitoring. Serve as liaison between the local health department and external stakeholders. Represent the TB Program and participate in state cohort and case reviews, TB Council of Governments (COG), and other stakeholder activities and trainings. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. As a manager/supervisor of unionized employees, this position has a responsibility for fostering a positive labor relations environment based on mutual trust, respect, and cooperation. Minimum Qualifications

• Experience: Five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience managing a Tuberculosis Control and Prevention program or other communicable disease program, including contract and grant oversight. Education : Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree. Equivalency: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted. Note: Based upon legislative requirements, some positions may be subject to different minimum qualifications. License: Possession of a valid Class "C" (or equivalent) driver’s license from the applicant's state of residence when required for job-related duties.

Other Qualifications

• Preferred Criteria: The applications of those individuals meeting the minimum qualifications will be reviewed to determine the extent, relevance of training, and experience in the following areas: Valid and active Registered Nurse License within the State of Maryland. Experience working in a community health setting as a registered nurse. Experience with oversight and supervision of a multidisciplinary team. Experience managing a TB control and prevention program or other communicable disease program, including contract and grant oversight. Experience working with electronic health records, other electronic databases, and data collection and analysis. Familiarity with State and Federal infection control and prevention regulations and guidelines.
