About the Role

Minimum Qualifications

• Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) appropriate for the vehicle class being operated.
• Clean driving record with no recent violations or accidents.
• Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screening.
• Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety regulations.
• Experience driving trucks in a local delivery environment, preferably within the manufacturing or logistics sector.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience operating flatbed or specialized trucks used in manufacturing logistics.
• Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning software.
• Strong understanding of OSHA and DOT regulations related to transportation and workplace safety.
• Customer service experience to effectively interact with clients and internal teams.
• Additional certifications such as hazardous materials (HAZMAT) endorsement or forklift operation.

Responsibilities

• Operate company trucks to transport materials and products within a designated local area, adhering to scheduled routes and delivery times.
• Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Load and unload cargo safely, ensuring that all items are secured to prevent damage during transit.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents or delays encountered during routes.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse personnel, and management to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly.
