Transmission System Operator

High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree is preferred.

Ideally 6+ years of transmission operations or construction experience, including approximately 2+ years of control center-related experience.

Sound decision-making ability under stressful and time-sensitive operating conditions.

Effective communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly in real-time operations settings.

Ability to manage multiple tasks while continuously monitoring multiple CRTs and system information sources.

AC/DC theory, blueprint reading, Excel, and Microsoft Word experience.

Experience monitoring or supporting high-voltage transmission systems in a real-time operations environment.

Experience with switching orders, clearances, scheduled equipment operations, outage restoration, and field resource coordination.

Experience supporting fault analysis, contingency planning, system performance monitoring, or real-time data quality assurance.

Experience supporting compliance with NERC reliability standards in a control center or bulk electric system environment.

Ability to document system activities, operating actions, and reliability-related information clearly and accurately.

Understanding of real-time transmission operations practices and emergency response expectations is preferred.

B e NERC certified or obtain certification within one year of hire.

NERC certification must be TO, BIT, or RC.
