Job Summary
Copper Roots is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Transmission Line Engineering Intern to join our team in Fort Worth, TX. In this role, you will assist in the design and analysis of overhead transmission line projects. You will work under the supervision of licensed professional engineers to develop technical solutions for ongoing projects.
What to Expect
Provide assistance in the design and analysis of high-voltage overhead transmission lines (69kV to 345kV) using PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.
Perform structure loading calculations, conductor sag analysis, and line routing studies.
Support the preparation of engineering drawings, material lists, technical reports, cost estimates, technical specifications, and project documentation.
Become familiar with industry standards such as the NESC, ASCE, RUS, IEEE, and ACI.
Collaborate with team members while executing projects.
Foster a positive work environment and contribute to the team.
Qualifications
- Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
- Basic knowledge of civil engineering fundamentals and principles.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
