Mid-Level Transmission Line Engineer

The ideal candidate will have 3 to 6 years of experience in transmission line design with voltages ranging from 69kV to 345kV.

The candidate should be proficient in PLS-CADD and have a strong understanding of transmission line engineering fundamentals, industry standards, and construction practices.

Copper Roots is seeking a skilled and highly motivated Mid-Level Transmission Line Engineer to join our growing team, based in the Boise, ID area.

The ideal candidate will have 3 to 6 years of experience in transmission line design with voltages ranging from 69kV to 345kV.

The candidate should be proficient in PLS-CADD and have a strong understanding of transmission line engineering fundamentals, industry standards, and construction practices.

• Assist in the design and analyze overhead transmission lines from 69kV to 345kV using PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.
• Perform structure loading analysis, sag and tension calculations, and line routing evaluations.
• Develop and review transmission line drawings, including plan and profile, structure, and material assembly drawings.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, including NESC, ASCE, IEEE, etc.
• Effectively communicate, delegate, and lead team members to successfully execute projects.
• Coordinate with clients and other stakeholders on the status of the project.
• Prepare and issue material lists, engineering reports, cost estimates, project scopes, and technical specifications.
• Provide technical support during bidding, procurement, and construction phases.
• Conduct site visits and work with field teams to ensure project success.
• Track and manage project metrics including scope, schedule, and budget.
• Ensure overall quality of design tasks and project deliverables through adherence of quality procedures.
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies and best practices in transmission engineering.
