Role Overview

  • The Training Manager provides effective leadership for the delivery and management of all Continuing Airworthiness training activities from the TTF.
  • Leads and manages a skilled workforce to deploy fit for purpose training solutions while maximising operational efficiency and minimising costs.

Core Activity

  • Ensuring delivery to contracted milestones in line with CDRL B02.
  • Identify training business opportunities and develop outline solutions or bid proposals compliant with Part 145 and EASA/EMARS.
  • Undertake training situation analysis and produce consolidated reports/outline syllabi.
  • Manage the delivery of training interventions including courseware, examinations, devices and facilities.
  • Ensure training is delivered via a variety of media and facilitate assessments.
  • Manage and lead training activities including bids, data management, facilities, trainers, examinations, training records and course scheduling.
  • Manage the evaluation of training design and delivery ensuring continuous improvements are embedded.
  • Manage and lead the BAE Systems and BSL Mandated Training schedule, training records and course scheduling.

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure effective leadership of Aircraft Maintenance & Support Training activities by setting delivery targets, monitoring progress and developing performance improvement programmes.
  • Ensure all Training activities are appropriately documented and airworthiness records are maintained.
  • Lead training compliance with the Training Management Plan and associated procedures.
  • Manage the application of Human Factors, Error Management, Risk Management and Safety Assurance within Training.
  • Ensure all Training activities are compliant with the Governance and Assurance framework.
  • Manage audit findings and implement effective improvements.
  • Demonstrate detailed understanding of the Continuing Airworthiness Regulatory framework and implement changes.
  • Lead compliance with all applicable contractual requirements.

Qualifications/Functional Knowledge

  • High level of Regulatory Framework understanding.
  • Able to design, implement and foster a continuous improvement culture.
  • Able to take the lead in developing an efficient and cost effective training strategy.
  • Able to manage the competency of the training department.
  • Works with senior management to drive long term improvements.
  • Ensures integration of training activity within the business.
  • Recent extensive experience as a Leader in Training or a related discipline.
  • Degree Level Qualification, or suitable equivalent.
