About this Position

Responsibilities and Duties

• Support global suppliers of sourced tooling for purchased plastic parts, conduct tool design reviews with suppliers to insure proper technology and design is deployed in each tool; review tool capability runs, analysis of performance data to determine tooling performance meets startup and long term business needs.
• Define and develop requirements for suppliers for plastic molded parts.
• Work with MCAD & ME to ensure plastic part designs are optimized (DFMs) and producible at a market leading cost.
• Collaborate with supply management, product design, and manufacturing engineering groups on material selection, design feasibility and aesthetics of new plastic part & tooling designs.
• Assist GSM to identify capable suppliers for molded plastic parts.
• Estimate / provide costing information for plastic injection tools, repairs, spare parts to support current production and New Business Activities.
• Lead the development of new plastic injection tooling projects to meet a wide range of product performance and cosmetic requirements.
• Proficient with the use of Design for Manufacturing, SPC, DOE’s; Green Belt or Black Certification, Six- Sigma techniques, Red X Shainin is a plus.
