Job Summary
The Tile Mason is responsible for installing tiles on floors, walls, ceilings, and other surfaces as per project specifications.
The role requires accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to ensure high-quality finishing in all tiling works.
Key Responsibilities
- Measure and mark surfaces to be tiled according to drawings and site requirements
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying underlayment where required
- Cut tiles using hand tools or power tools to fit around obstacles and edges
- Lay tiles in accordance with design patterns and alignment specifications
- Apply adhesives, mortar, and grout to fix tiles securely
- Ensure proper spacing, leveling, and alignment of tiles
- Repair or replace broken or damaged tiles
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
- Follow safety procedures and site regulations at all times
- Coordinate with supervisors and other trades to complete work efficiently
Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Tile Mason or similar role
- Good knowledge of different types of tiles (ceramic, porcelain, marble, etc.)
- Ability to read drawings and layout plans
- Skilled in tile cutting, leveling, and finishing techniques
- Physical stamina and ability to work in demanding site conditions
- Basic understanding of safety practices
Education & Experience
- High school or equivalent (preferred)
- Minimum 2–5 years of relevant experience in tile installation
Working Conditions
- Work on construction sites, both indoor and outdoor
- Exposure to dust, noise, and varying weather conditions
- May require lifting heavy materials and prolonged standing
