Job Summary
The Procurement Engineer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and coordinating materials, equipment, and services required for project execution.
The role involves vendor coordination, quotation analysis, technical evaluation, cost control, and ensuring timely delivery of materials according to project requirements and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and process purchase requests and purchase orders.
- Source suppliers and subcontractors for project materials and services.
- Obtain and compare quotations based on technical specifications and pricing.
- Coordinate with site engineers, project managers, and suppliers regarding material requirements and delivery schedules.
- Ensure purchased materials comply with project specifications and quality standards.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
- Monitor inventory levels and avoid material shortages or delays.
- Maintain procurement records, vendor databases, and purchase documentation.
- Track deliveries and coordinate logistics to ensure timely supply to sites.
- Follow up on pending orders and resolve supply-related issues.
- Assist in preparing procurement reports and cost comparisons.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procurement procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in procurement or construction-related purchasing.
- Knowledge of construction materials, MEP items, and supplier management.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and ERP/procurement software.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Valid UAE driving license is an advantage.
